Not far from where I live is a pond on a mountain, filled with lily pads and enormous bullfrog tadpoles that make ripple rings when they come up to gulp some air.

I got to spend some time in the morning pond-gazing. Little fish swimming in and out of light and shadow, and one enormous tadpole.

The pond on my walk has warmed up enough to be showing abundant signs of life – koi, newts, frogs and their eggs, and waterlilies starting to reach for the surface!
