What is the story here? Circus dreams? Maybe I just read too many comic books. Or maybe I’m just personifying my paintbrushes.
Midsummer night’s dreaming
I am really enjoying ending my day with these line drawings. They’re black Acryla-Gouache on paper coated with a gray-tinted gesso. Slowly I’m coloring them with paint and crayon; I’ll post the colored versions on the page with the original line drawing when done, and maybe do a separate post with a gallery.
This is the first time in these 8+ years of daily drawings that I’ve been revisiting a series over time instead of drawing it on the day, posting it, and filing it away in a pile. I’ve done that here and there if a particular drawing didn’t feel quite done when I posted it, but this feels different, more intentional and organized.
Made myself a coloring page and then spent way too much time coloring it in. Cheers.
Last #Inktober for this year, but probably not the last pen/brush and ink drawings.
#Inktober is driving home the message that color is a fast, easy way to generate contrast and interesting composition if you run out of time to actually plan and execute a well structured drawing.
I do not know who this is, or why they strolled across the paper stage. Perhaps you should give them a face and story of your own choosing.
