My scanner put more green in this than there is in the actual drawing, but the colors still work for me so I’m not fixing it.

I mushed my right pointer finger so I had to draw this lefty while icing my owwie. Scanned and posted one-handed too. I also broke a bowl I like in a separate incident (dispute with a cat over thieving food). It’s just been one of those days.
So my big plan now is to go to bed, and when I get up, I’ll be all better.

One of my personal ‘rules’ for posting my daily drawings is never to apologize or make excuses. But lately I’ve started talking a little bit about process. There’s no question that some days I do not feel satisfied with the drawing, and only quit because I’ve hit a wall of time or energy. I feel like if it had not been so late, and I so tired, I could’ve pushed this one for another hour and ended up somewhere that pleased me more.
But it is what it is. Revealing colors within and beyond darkness.

Sometimes I finish a drawing and realize that it’s showing me something that’s within me but that I’m not aware of. I can’t get there as easily with words.
