A Facebook friend (James Koehnline) recently introduced me to the art of Remedios Varo. I didn’t notice how much I had soaked it up until I saw the piece below, as I was preparing to scan yesterday’s art:

My 3rd and probably final collage this year.
For the second year, because of covid caution I did not host the usual all-day gathering in my studio. Instead, a group of us gathered on zoom to share our collage or other art work. Many lovely and fruitful reflections on art, life, and spirit. I’m grateful to have such family and friends.

If you’ve been following Ayespider for a while, you know that sometime in February I make collages. Well, that time has arrived, even though once again this year (covid caution!) I’m not able to have my in-studio all day collage-making gathering with friends. Here’s the first one, make of it what you will.

My cat Wrack caught a mouse and released it in my studio. I haven’t seen it since, but if I leave any of my snacks lying around they disappear overnight…
