Just in case there was any worry that my art would be any less goofy for having taken a month off. Nope! Here’s your bird angel, offering you flowers.
1 March 2021: Dailies are back!!!
Well, I don’t know if you’re that excited about it, but to me it felt wonderful to sit back at my drawing station and spend an hour or so singing in paints.
All the teeth and peacock feathers and wordless sounds, in blue and warm yellow. Ahh!
28 February 2021: Collage!
Well, it’s the end of my month off from the dailies, and I kind of missed them. But I’ve been busy making other art, never fear! I made a ridiculous number of little collages in the past week, which I will share with you here.
The two above are on 9″ x 12″ paper. I love how collage can engage playful intuition. I work on several at the same time, and think that I’m just responding to line and color, but then often find that they have drawn forth a little story or vignette.
This and the ones that follow are all smaller, about 4″ x 5″. They feel like curious little peeks into dreams or half-baked ideas.
I hope you found these enjoyable. I return to daily drawings tomorrow, if all goes as planned! Happy March!

The original post was 8 November 2020. Fire dancing. Our little fire pit is now buried in snow, with more on the way. But the sun is already stronger, and the days are getting longer in leaps and bounds!

The original post was 8 September 2020. In this case, I think the extra work didn’t necessarily improve the painting, but it got me to where I’m ok with letting it go.

I posted the original version of this as 8&9 July 2020, a line drawing doodle. Couldn’t figure out where it was trying to go for a long time. Still not sure what’s up with it, but I’m OK being done with it now.
