I have returned to my studio and my scanner. This was drawn in the mostly-dark, at the Stone Church in Brattleboro, before the Sam Amidon/Marc Ribot concert I was fortunate to attend. I might get around to doing a little more work on this one.
My angels are often anatomically like insects, in that they have 6 appendages plus wings. Why not.
I did manage to keep up my daily practice while away; as I have time, I’ll add posts for those dates.
My scanner doesn’t handle reds and oranges very well I guess. I like the colors on the original better than what’s showing up here, but didn’t take the time to fix the scan levels. Oh well, here it is anyway.
I was inspired watching a little clip of one of my very favorite living illustrator/artists painting calligraphic blades of grass. Not that I can imagine ever reaching their level of craft or artistry. If you’re not familiar with it, you should look up Natee Himmapaan’s gorgeous work.
