Here’s a quick goofy one. The base picture was an arresting image of a fellow in mask and body paint. The feet belong to the nuns that were in day-before-yesterday’s post. The doily and sculpture were to bring the colorway together. Unlike yesterday, I did not then spend a lot of time adding little bits in hopes of making the whole thing more interesting. Part of my challenge is knowing when to quit.
I think maybe I could have stopped when this one was quite simple; it pleased me then. But I started adding more stuff, and ran out of time & energy while it was (is) still in this intermediate, not-quite-resolved state. But I think I’m going to let it go, and leave it where it is.
There are still a couple of pages of ideas waiting to be added to and glued down before this year’s collaging is over.

it is all glued down. Until I put all the collage materials away for the year, I can’t promise it won’t change, but at least now everything there will stay where it is. I did manage to work in a couple more sneks and a couple more potatoes.
More collage. I got the pieces tacked down but not yet glued in place, so this one may shift and change a bit before it’s done. I think there may be room for at least one more potato. Although I am usually not consciously thinking about a theme while I’m working on these collages, this one seems to have something to do with the spectators’ gaze. And now that I’m looking at it, it clearly needs more sneks.

this one is not yet glued down, nor maybe entirely complete, but it’s pretty well on the way.

I think I posted an earlier version of this one the day of the collage party. I think it’s done now. It will join my deck of cards that are on the theme of “ways I get stuck, and ways to get un-stuck” This one represents analysing a problem by taking it apart into smaller components.
here’s another one, that I posted the start of yesterday. It will also join the deck, representing something like the fierce power of family ties.
I spent most of my studio time today continuing to clean up and sort collage materials so they’ll be ready for next year. This one isn’t finished, but it’s on its way.
