I work a lot with Caran D’Ache water soluble crayons, but don’t love that the colors are a bit chalky and very susceptible to damage. So I tried coating this with acrylic varnish, and it seems to work beautifully to address both issues. Will be playing with this for a bit, I suspect!

thinking about the gravitational pull of distant connections
This one I started with ink running on the page, and then followed feelings about colors. I guess the spring green is there, with the summer colors in the veiled background. This winter has been weirdly warm, but we still have snow cover, and no leaves. It’s the time of year when I miss green the most.
Art and Gaming at the Masque
I’m spending this weekend at the Feast of Lights, a gathering with my beloved EarthSpirit Community. It is my first time back with this tribe since the start of Covid. I am happy and also overwhelmed. Drew this one in the company of a new young friend, who spent my drawing time telling me about their art journey and their gaming friends.
Yggdrasil. I was reminded of the squirrel by a pair of drunken heathens as I drew at the bar.
These are Altair and Lanai, I just finished painting them and post them with permission from the friend who commissioned them. They were lovely cats, and it was really fun to paint them!
