Coming from New England, where we are heading into winter and the warm weather people are getting away or going to ground, it was a major delight to be in a land of active reptiles, with lizards skittering about the edges of the patio in our lodgings.
Arrived in New Orleans, settled into a house with a pile of beloved family members. The wedding colors are blue and orange. The preparations are well under way.
(scanner bed needs cleaning again!!) This was from my first day away from home. Evening visit with a cousin, at a house I’ve known and loved my whole life. The nerves of packing and prepping starting to smooth out, as there’s nowhere else to be, and nothing else to do, but follow this adventure.
catching up with the house and the jobs after more than a week away…and still making sure to have time for good things in life. So, tired in studio and feeling no particular creative urge. Sometimes adding scribbles of discontent is enough to allow me to feel finished enough to let it go, and get my sleep!
I have returned to my studio and my scanner. This was drawn in the mostly-dark, at the Stone Church in Brattleboro, before the Sam Amidon/Marc Ribot concert I was fortunate to attend. I might get around to doing a little more work on this one.
My angels are often anatomically like insects, in that they have 6 appendages plus wings. Why not.
I did manage to keep up my daily practice while away; as I have time, I’ll add posts for those dates.
