don’t really know who this is but clearly their attitude is bad
No art from the 18th; I was traveling, visiting, and singing chanteys in a pub. Seemed like a good excuse to give myself a break.

I draw in a way blindly, no idea what the picture is. Then often look at the finished thing and know exactly what it was, although I didn’t know it at the time, and if I had, wouldn’t have been able to make this kind of image for it. Still not sure I can articulate it in words. But “deer fleeing into the woods, with all the barbed trees” will do for now.

More interested in tying knots than making pictures this day. Here’s what you get, fast fooling around with crayon washes and resists.
But also, here are tonight’s knots. In color. You might be surprised at how much time a little bit of wrapping like that can take. (I sort of wish I’d taken a “before” shot!)

bird’s eye over the rolling hills
I work a lot with Caran D’Ache water soluble crayons, but don’t love that the colors are a bit chalky and very susceptible to damage. So I tried coating this with acrylic varnish, and it seems to work beautifully to address both issues. Will be playing with this for a bit, I suspect!
