I did not realize it as I was drawing, but this is quite obviously Bettina, my piano accordion. I have been practicing with her daily in advance of the Welcome Yule! show this coming weekend.
Here comes a month of mostly black-and-white art, in preparation for a January show at the Harmony Collective Artist Gallery with the theme of Black/White. In this month of short days and long nights the theme seems appropriate, but I will allow myself splashes of colors if I need them!
I have had a few days of my body aching and feeling not great, and I was feeling anxious and afraid. So I drew that. But I didn’t want to dwell in that feeling, so I covered it with grapevines. And then I felt better.

I’m sure this has nothing to do with the hip and low back pain I’ve been dealing with the past couple of days! Nevertheless, Thanksgiving was joyful, with much happy family news.
