We’ve come to the season where I find bumble bees sleeping on the late blooming flowers in the morning. The yellow jackets seem to have given up their nest in the strawberry bed, the last raspberries are ripening, and the last of my zucchinis coming along. Soon it will be bedtime for the garden.
I may need to replenish my supply of some ink colors soon! The green and brown are ever-changing mixtures of the leftovers from wash pools. I love the way the colors sometimes separate as they sink in, it’s unpredictable and magical.
I mostly just wanted to evoke the sensation of a big space.
There often comes a point in a drawing where I don’t know what to do next, and don’t think it’s good enough to warrant more effort. At that point I have to actively decide that I don’t care. The next step is often a blind leap, trusting that some part of my visualizing self is paying attention, and the skills that I’ve acquired will be able to team up with it to pull something out of the jump.
