ALT: a very scribbly crayon and ink drawing, with black, red and white snarly tangles on a pastel blue and gold background. the aggregate shape is somewhat of an echo of yesterday’s tyrannosaurus rex, without the flag or the goofy charm.
ALT: water-soluble crayon drawing. Picturing a face in an abstract yellow/orange/green hood/ The eyes are close set and peering directly out with a concerned and tired attitude. the mouth is closed firmly with a bit of a sad or sarcastic tilt. Dark blue sky and stars in the background. The face also has something like a shadowy third eye on its forehead.
ALT: crayon drawing, abstract-ish. A figure robed in yellow stands holding a staff or spear. Original reference was a National Geographic photo of a man who watched for elephant poachers; this drawing I made from memory and reference to the previous ink sketch of it that I posted a couple of days ago.
ALT: ink and water soluble crayon, abstract. Greenish lines like a thicket of sticks on a red and yellow ground, overlaid with black lines that seem to show two beings of some kind stepping through or hanging from branches and leaves. The being on the right seems to be actively moving, while looking intently at the one on the left, which seems to be bound or swaddled, but maybe also with wings, and not meeting the other’s gaze. Or you can tell your own story about it if you prefer.
ALT: graphite and ink drawing. two beings, humanoid but with teddy bear ears, seem to be playing in a waterfall or dome, with maybe rain outside. some trails of imaginary writing on the walls or in the water.
I’m back from my cold and wet hiatus. Many lovely moments despite the weather. But very nice to be warm and dry, and cycling through massive piles of laundry.
ALT: water-soluble crayon drawing, zoomed in on a fanciful colorful bug-like critter. it’s yellow-green, has magenta spots in a line down its side, and some improbable number of spiky thorn-like legs.
I’m about to head out for a long weekend stay in unheated space, with the forecast being rainy and temps in the 30’s and 40s (fahrenheit). I may not make any art! The challenge of staying warm and dry might just be enough for now.
spare thoughts for the homeless, for people whose dwellings and towns have been bombed, for people who are losing any sense of security.
gratitude that I will (insh’allah) be returning to loving family and warm, dry housing at the end of the trip.
ALT: graphite and crayon drawing, really not much more than a scribble. I think it looks like a rather over-dramatic heron creature, emoting about their personal difficulties.
ALT: crayon drawing, abstract, in gold and red. These are shapes I like to draw. This looks to me like a portrait of an insect, with curly antennae and a red cape.
ALT: color pencil drawing, abstract. There’s a circle in the middle of the page (slightly off-center to the right) it’s reddish brown. Inside the circle is blue, with white scribbles, and light blue lines radiating out from the center, all the way to the edges of the page. Outside the circle are spinny lines that seem as if it’s rotating counter-clockwise. Soft bands of colors alternate: yellow, green, lilac, and blue.
