I ran out of free time, so ended up drawing as I listened in to my Wednesday book group, which is working through Mary Greer’s 21 ways to Read a Tarot Card. One of the exercises was embodying the 4 of Pentacles from the Rider-Waite deck, which obviously happened while I was setting up the drawing. So here’s my version of that card based on memory and the description read by the book group’s leader of the day. The frog just happened to stop by on its own.
We have a new artist in the Harmony Collective gallery, Leonard Ragouzeos. So I have been able to spend some time with his small gouache abstracts, and have found them inspiring for my own experiments in gouache and acryla-gouache. That’s what I was thinking about as I pushed myself to make something out of this particular noodling.
