we admire the spring
ALT: ink drawing, black lines with some loose color washes. There’s a tall thin vase with two daffodils and some kind of blue flower looking quite jaunty. From the left edge of the picture peers what could be three faces, or maybe they’re just more weird flowers. The vase is flanked by two vertical strips of imaginary writing that looks like it’s trying to be Japanese calligraphy but giving up and melting when it reaches the bottom.
tidal shift
ALT: abstract ink painting. blue, green and magenta swirling lines, and some red starry spots around the upper left part of the shapes. there’s a lot of flowing motion, generally between lower left and upper right, and a feeling of liquid flow. Oh, it also somehow reminds me of a scarab beetle. maybe just the colors.
to rest
ALT: calligraphic doodle that could be read as a sleeping person on, or floating above, a soft surface, gently rolling hills on the horizon and a red spiral of sun behind clouds setting on the left side of the picture.
here are those flowers again, with even more colors. Still not finished, I don’t think.
ALT: the three flowers under a flower sun picture again, but now all the white areas are filled in, and the “sun” is a rather lurid blue and orange ring. Not sure I love the color balance yet.

Yes indeed, it’s just yesterday’s drawing, but now with more colors.
ALT: Same description as yesterday, but now the faces have color, the ground is greener, the dandelion and marigold are painted in, and some outlines tidied up. (yesterday’s description: ink painting of three flowers shaped sort of like daisies, but pink and purple, and having faces in their centers. The top one is smiling open-mouthed, just under is one that looks sort of skeptical, and the third stands apart looking a bit zoned out. Not yet colored in there’s a fairly normal looking dandelion and a marigold. The sky is filled with a sun that is really just another big flowers with petals that cover the whole background of the picture.)

ALT: water soluble crayon drawing, abstract. There’s a shape like a bent bow with the string pulled to outside the left edge of the picture, but not really any apparent arrow. Also, the stylized, calligraphic shape that might be a person is not in the correct orientation to even be pulling the bowstring. So I’m not sure what the heck is going on there, but the shapes seemed to call to each other for me.
hard time waking up
ALT: Ink drawing in blue lines with red and yellow background. You might see it as a being of some sort propped up in bed looking very grumpy and disheveled. There’s definitely a sort of eye, and spiky hair. Goodness knows what the rest of it is all about. Lots of dots and squiggles.
dancing willows, sway and bend
ALT: ink drawing showing two willow shoots cavorting in front of two egg-shaped, sky-colored openings in a dark purple ground. One of the shoots has just 3 leaves, and exposed roots, the other coming up from below has all of 5 leaves, and you can’t tell if it’s in the earth or not. Oh, and there’s something like a full moon in the upper sky-hole.
my ah-ther-itis is acting up
ALT: ink drawing mostly in blues and purple, of an angular figure with red anger spots in the hips and knees, and lots of slashing exclamatory lines. pale gray letters near the head say ow ow ow ow. Hands are on face, eyes are big and hair is standing straight up. Sigh. Yes, I took an advil, and slept pretty well after all. And I don’t like to complain, but pain really does suck.
