I saw this arresting image, which reminded me of what the Water Protectors in North Dakota are doing now, to prevent a pipeline from being built under the Missouri River. Sometimes human beings need to put our bodies and lives on the line to protect other beings from destruction by our own kind.

Looking up the source of this photo led me to discover that there is a  Global Non-Violent Action Database, apparently based at Swarthmore. This is the kind of information that helps me feel I’m not alone, there’s good work to do and many people doing it with great bravery.
