The past few days before starting to draw I’ve been reading little bits of Annie Dillard’s Pilgrim at Tinker Creek. I don’t know how this manifests in the drawings, but I respond to the way she flows from precise observation of nature to observation of self and the nature of experience

I love the white strokes in this painting and also the movement. Beautiful.
Thanks, Annina! that was a whole lot of messy masking tape to make the white, I was not at all sure it would come off as anything worth looking at. Experimenting with media is fun; I hope I’ll have more time to do that once I get settled into the new studio
