Here’s the piece I spent most of the weekend working on, in the company of some really engaging and inspiring people.
My usual media – ink, crayon, water soluble colors, wax – on masonite, not my usual surface. I don’t feel that it’s finished yet; as it progresses I’ll post it again.

This is different to your usual posts. I always like your drawings but I particularly like when you make sudden changes of direction.
Thanks! I was specifically looking forward to getting challenged to move away from what I’ve gotten familiar with, as you do in your experimental drawing classes. Specifically, it’s been a while since I worked on anything that was not time-limited as my daily drawings are.
Where did you go? This reminds me of Rowe Camp.
I went to the annual EarthSpirit gathering called Twilight Covening. It’s the 9th year I’ve gone, always a very rich experience.
I also enjoyed this departure from the familiar, although I always enjoy that as well.
Thanks, now that I’m back wrapped up in the flow of my regular life I’m wondering how to make more space for departures
